What I like about singers like Jessie J is how they deliver songs that represent most of our longings & state.
What I like about the Bible is how it addresses every trivial part of life. The songs our heart sing out, the Word of God has something to reassure and or redirect us.
So while we feel perfectly incomplete, we learn that God is the one who completes His work so long as we allow God to work in our lives.
“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” -Philippians 1:6
And while we feel perfectly incomplete, we are reminded that we are God’s creation to live purposeful lives for Him.
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” -Ephesians 2:10
I think about that and I look at myself so insufficient, so lacking, incapable of creating a masterpiece in myself but by the grace of God we are being brought to completion.
This to say that if I were to face Jesus Christ now, I will borrow the lines of Jerry Maguire’s wife…
“Lord Jesus, You… complete me.”
Oh! The beauty of pop and how God’s Word is ‘timelessly’ relevant.
